Description
The abisip-find utility uses brodcast UDP packets to obtain a list of all BTSs reachable via the local network segment using the abisip-find
utility (part of osmo-bsc source code).
For some reason unknown to me, this functionality is implemented as part of osmobts-{sysmo,lc15,oc2g}-mgr, and not part of the normal osm-bts-* program. This means that osmo-bts-trx doesn't suppport the feature.
Looking at {oc2g,lc15,sysmo}bts_mgr_nl.c
in the sourec code, the only difference is the code obtaining parameters such as serial number, BTS model name and Ethernet MAC adress.
- one common/shared implementation, that
- becomes part of the normal osmo-bts binary
- gets passed in the model-specific information via some struct from the model-specific part when initialized
Assigning to jolly (for after april 1st)
Afterwards, https://gerrit.osmocom.org/c/osmo-gsm-manuals/+/32004 can be merged to update documentation
