Description
doing CRCX in loopback mode was necessary for early 3G support in osmo-mgw.
We faked an IuUP Initialization ACK message using loopback and some header patching -- ugly.
osmo-mgw supports IuUP Initialization to work in any mode since I6c365559a7bd197349f0ea99f7a13b56a4bb580b.
osmo-msc has removed the loopback hack from its CRCX for IUFP in march 2023, and creates the initial IUFP conn in recvonly.
osmo-hnbgw should do the same.
Using loopback or not should be completely orthogonal to using IUFP or not.
So techincally, osmo-hnbgw is free to use loopback if it wants to.
But currently the only reason to use loopback was the IuUP hack -- with that gone, let's not keep a confusing RTP mode.
